Casa de Arte's next exhibit will include works from internationally known Mexican artists, including Carlos Merida, Jesus Escobedo and Raul Anguiano, courtesy of Martji More, a well known, local art collector.
Merida, Anguiano and Escobedo were members of some of the same political groups and indigenous-inspired art movements in the 1930s and 40s as the great Mexican muralists Diego Rivera, Jose Clemente Orozco, and David Siqueiros. That they are internationally known is no exaggeration; their work can be found in the Modern Museums of Art in New York and Mexico City, among many other prestigious museums worldwide.
